Il giorno 27 Maggio 2003 alle ore 15.00 nell’aula 1G09
Il Dott.Jurgen Van de Walle - Department of General Linguistics University of Gent (Belgium)
terrà un seminario su:
“Latent Semantic Analysis – A general introduction and a sample application”
Il proponente
Francesco Cutugno
Abstract:
Latent Semantic Analysis is a quite new approach used for information retrieval and computational semantics. It is a fully automatic method based on singular value decomposition of frequency matrices.
In a first part of the seminar the differences between Latent Semantic
Analysis and more ‘traditional’ methods in computational semantics will
be explained. In a second part the algorithm and its implementation will
be set out. For this, compounds in Dutch will be used as a guiding example.
